The details that make a home yours

Furniture is the skeleton of a room and accessories its soul. With a few coloured cushions, a warm lamp or a well-shaped mirror, you can change the whole mood of a living room without replacing the sofa. We have chosen accessories in this category to work with our furniture.

Combining colours

A simple, practical rule is 60-30-10: 60 per cent dominant colour (walls and sofa), 30 per cent secondary (curtains and rug) and 10 per cent accent (cushions and décor). If your sofa is neutral, cushions are the best place for bolder colour.

Cushions

Mixing two or three sizes (for example 45 and 50 cm) and two textures (velvet and linen) adds interest. An odd number of cushions on a three-seater usually looks more balanced.

Light

Table and floor lamps create warm, layered light that makes a living room inviting at night. Warm white (2700 to 3000 K) suits lounges and bedrooms best.

Mirrors, rugs and art

A mirror makes a room feel larger, a rug defines the seating area and art gives a home its character. Choose a rug big enough for at least the front legs of the sofa to sit on it.
