Choosing the size
- Allow about 60 cm of table length per person.
- A four-seat table is usually 120 to 140 cm long, six seats 160 to 180 cm, and eight seats 200 to 220 cm.
- Leave at least 90 cm between the table edge and the wall so chairs slide back easily.
Table shape
Round: for small, square rooms; easy conversation and no sharp corners.
Rectangular: the most common shape, for long rooms and larger gatherings.
Oval: the capacity of a rectangle with easier movement around it.
