Malakeh Nine-Seat Royal Set

Malakeh is the heaviest work our workshop produces — in weight and in the hours our craftsmen devote to it. Every piece is cut from kiln-dried beech, and Malayer's carvers cut floral and arabesque designs into the back frame, arms and legs by hand with chisels. A complete Malakeh set takes almost a month to make.

After carving, the wood is covered in gold or silver leaf and then antiqued with patina, so the raised areas shine and the recesses fall into shadow. The seats are built with webbing, springs and 40 kg/m³ cold-cure foam — our royal furniture is not just for looking at, it is comfortable to sit on.
